Our Board

Our board members are passionate professionals and leaders who volunteer their time, expertise, and dedication to advancing the mission of paNhari. Each member brings a unique blend of skills, experiences, and perspectives from diverse fields such as property development, international development, water management, and education. Together, they are united by a shared commitment to fostering youth empowerment, sustainable development, and community resilience across the globe. Through their strategic guidance and hands-on contributions, our board members support paNhari’s initiatives, inspire the next generation, and ensure our programs align with the highest standards of governance and impact.

Board

Janna Gullery is Director of International Programs at Service For Peace, an international non-governmental organization promoting cross-cultural service for sustainable community development. Through the Global PeaceMakers program, Janna works with SFP to connect international and local volunteers with partner Communities of Peace for long-term development programs that transform both volunteers and communities themselves through service, leadership development, social entrepreneurship and intercultural exchange. She has 10+ years of experience in volunteer management and group facilitation focusing on young people, and has developed and taught a service-learning curriculum fostering leadership development and global citizenship education.

Janna holds a Masters degree in Community Development & Planning from Clark University, where she received the Theodore Von Laue Award in International Development. She also received her Bachelors degree in International Development & Social Change from Clark University. While in Worcester, MA, she co-founded Youth Outreach Worcester, a student-led organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of bullying and stereotypes through interactive workshops at inner-city high schools and middle schools. She additionally serves as a board member for the International Volunteer Program Association governing standards for excellence in international volunteering. She is an active member of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of New York City and regularly volunteers in and around New York City.

Wadzanai Vere

Wadzanayi Vere is a seasoned development leader with over two decades of experience in nonprofit management, currently serving as Executive Director of the Self Help Development Foundation Trust. Her expertise spans organizational strategy, financial sustainability, and stakeholder engagement. As a former Chairperson of the National Association of NGOs and Vice Chairperson of the Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe, Wadzanayi has played a pivotal role in advancing grassroots and women’s rights initiatives. Her strategic vision has led to successful programs in enterprise development, capacity building, and poverty alleviation, positioning her as a valuable board member of paNhari.

Simbisayi Mlanda

Simbisayi Mlanda is an accomplished professional in property management and development, with a strong background in corporate support functions and governance. Currently managing Properties and Internal Services at a leading telecommunications company in Zimbabwe, she combines her extensive corporate experience with a personal passion for property development, identifying and cultivating sites into valuable real estate assets. Beyond her corporate role, Simbisayi is an active player in Zimbabwe’s agro-economy, managing medium-scale commercial livestock and poultry operations—industries that are vital to Zimbabwe’s agricultural landscape.

With a degree in Rural and Urban Planning and a Master’s in Project Management underway, Simbisayi is dedicated to fostering sustainable development.

She is especially passionate about inspiring young Zimbabweans to invest in real estate and agriculture, recognizing these sectors as powerful vehicles for economic growth and empowerment. Known for her leadership and commitment to governance, Simbisayi brings invaluable insights and energy to paNhari’s mission, ensuring strategic growth and compliance with best practices in all initiatives.

Amy Newcomb

Amy Newcomb is an international educator and development consultant with extensive experience in higher education, specializing in community development, participatory research, and building international networks. She holds a BA in Anthropology from Biola University and an MA in Anthropology of Development from the University of London. Her professional journey includes roles in the U.S. Diplomatic Corps, the American University in Cairo, Tufts University, and as a development consultant for the Lazord Foundation, where she supports a fellowship program for college graduates in Egypt, Jordan, and Tunisia. Amy’s research has focused on topics such as women domestic workers in the Middle East, civic engagement, community-based scholarship, and youth employability. She is currently a Research Coordinator at the University of Washington Tacoma, where she is developing a framework to support Middle East and North Africa communities in Washington State through policy-oriented research. Additionally, she is a mentor in the University of Washington’s mentor network, committed to guiding the next generation of leaders in social responsibility and community engagement.

Nick Tandi

Nick Tandi is a seasoned expert in water management, climate adaptation, and sustainable development, with over a decade of experience working across Africa and internationally. He is currently a Senior Specialist in Urban & Water for Africa at the Global Center on Adaptation, where he manages investment-linked technical assistance projects, focusing on climate risk assessments and Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) to address climate challenges in Africa and Asia. Previously, Nick served as a Senior Water Resources Management Specialist at the World Bank, contributing to economic reform dialogues and analyzing strategies to alleviate water scarcity in regions like Western Cape, South Africa.

Before his tenure at the World Bank, he worked as the Programme Manager for the Strategic Water Partners Network with the NEPAD Business Foundation, leading public-private partnerships to tackle South Africa’s water challenges. With academic training in Soil Science (BSc) and Social Ecology (MSc), Nick is passionate about the intersection of social and ecological systems. His global experience includes travel and work throughout Africa, Europe, Central Asia, and Latin America. Nick is also dedicated to knowledge-sharing and capacity-building in water resources management, and he occasionally teaches conflict management to students in Southern Africa. He believes in leveraging his expertise to inspire and empower young professionals committed to sustainable solutions for water and climate resilience.
