paNhari Program Manager – Implementation

Background/Context

The For Youth, By Youth (FYBY) movement is a youth-led initiative aimed at empowering young leaders to drive community, institutional, and societal transformation. Funded by the Mastercard Foundation, FYBY leverages the networks of the Talloires Network of Engaged Universities—a coalition dedicated to strengthening the civic roles of higher education institutions—paNhari, an organization that supports youth development and leadership, and the Next Generation Leaders (NGL) Alumni, a group of experienced youth leaders who actively contribute their insights and expertise to strengthen FYBY’s impact. Together, these critical stakeholders are building a collaborative environment where diverse voices worldwide engage in addressing urgent challenges through leadership, wellness, ethical AI, and participatory action research. 

About the Role

The Program Manager will play a key role in coordinating and overseeing For Youth, By Youth’s core activities. This role includes organizing mentorship, managing outreach initiatives, liaising with paNhari staff and consultants, and facilitating participant engagement. This role will be directly contracted and supervised by the paNhari team and involves close collaboration with the Talloires Network secretariat staff to ensure alignment with Mastercard Foundation values, emphasizing accessibility, inclusivity, and adaptability to meet evolving program needs.

Timeline and LOE

The Program Manager role spans the full duration of the FYBY program phases, with an estimated Level of Effort (LOE) of approximately 4–5 days (32–40 hours) per week will be required to manage responsibilities effectively. 

Note: A “day” is considered an 8-hour workday.

Roles and Responsibilities 

1. Mentorship and Coaching Support 

  • Organize one-on-one mentorship sessions, group workshops, and webinars for FYBY participants. 
  • Develop regular email newsletters highlighting program milestones, participant achievements, and upcoming events. 
  • Coordinate office hours, thematic workshops, and discussions on topics such as wellness, ethical AI, and participatory action research. 
  • Deliverables: 
    • Bi-monthly email newsletters highlighting FYBY updates, upcoming events, and participant stories. 
    • At least two virtual information sessions held annually to introduce participants and stakeholders to FYBY, recorded and shared online for wider access. 
    • NGL alumni actively engaged in promoting FYBY within their networks through social media, blogs, and interviews. 

2. Visibility and Engagement 

  • Develop branded marketing materials and coordinate with NGL alumni for broader visibility. 
  • Host virtual information sessions to introduce potential participants and stakeholders to FYBY. 
  • Collaborate with consultants and NGL alumni to create promotional content, including videos and newsletters. 
  • Deliverables 
    • Branded marketing materials (e.g., banners, posters, flyers) created and distributed to partner organizations, educational institutions, and youth networks. 
    • Bi-monthly email newsletters highlighting FYBY updates, upcoming events, and participant stories. 
    • At least two virtual information sessions held annually to introduce participants and stakeholders to FYBY, recorded and shared online for wider access. 
    • NGL alumni actively engaged in promoting FYBY within their networks through social media, blogs, and interviews. 

 3. Consultant Oversight and Support 

  • Establish regular check-ins (e.g., bi-weekly or monthly) with consultants to review progress, address challenges, and provide feedback. 
  • Document and track consultant outputs, ensuring they are on track to meet their contractual obligations. 
  • Organize skill-building sessions and provide professional development resources for consultants. 
  • Manage compensation processes, address any conflicts, and conduct mid-term and final evaluations for each consultant. 
  • Deliverables 
    • At least two training sessions or workshops provided to consultants on key topics like Ethical AI, leadership, and participatory action research. 
    • Comprehensive mid-term and final evaluations for each consultant, assessing their contributions and impact on the FYBY program. 
    • Regular bi-weekly or monthly progress check-ins with consultants to track deliverables and ensure they are on schedule. 

4. Youth Network Collaboration 

  • Establish and maintain connections with youth networks such as Youth Think Tank, Scholars Program, and Ashoka. 
  • Organize joint events and webinars with youth networks to expand FYBY’s reach and foster participant engagement. 
  • Deliverables
    • At least three joint webinars or information sessions held with youth networks and partner universities to promote FYBY. 

Qualifications

  • Experience in program management, mentorship, and strategic outreach. 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to engage youth networks and foster community-building. 
  • Familiarity with digital tools for program coordination, virtual communication, and reporting.
