Background/Context

The For Youth, By Youth (FYBY) movement is a youth-led initiative aimed at empowering young leaders to drive community, institutional, and societal transformation. Funded by the Mastercard Foundation, FYBY leverages the networks of the Talloires Network of Engaged Universities—a coalition dedicated to strengthening the civic roles of higher education institutions—paNhari, an organization that supports youth development and leadership, and the Next Generation Leaders (NGL) Alumni, a group of experienced youth leaders who actively contribute their insights and expertise to strengthen FYBY’s impact. Together, these critical stakeholders are building a collaborative environment where diverse voices worldwide engage in addressing urgent challenges through leadership, wellness, ethical AI, and participatory action research. 

About the Role

The AI and Impact Intelligence Specialist will drive the implementation of the AI-enhanced tracking and evaluation system within the For Youth, By Youth (FYBY) movement. This role is central to ensuring that FYBY’s outcomes are measured effectively through data-driven insights, supporting participants’ development, and guiding program strategy. This role requires familiarity with AI systems for monitoring and evaluation, data privacy, and security protocols.  

This role will be directly contracted and supervised by the paNhari team and involves close collaboration with the Talloires Network secretariat staff to ensure alignment with Mastercard Foundation values, emphasizing accessibility, inclusivity, and adaptability to meet evolving program needs. 

As FYBY progresses, there may be adjustments in roles and responsibilities to meet the evolving needs of the program. Flexibility and adaptability are essential as we work together to uphold the FYBY mission and cultivate strong, impactful partnerships. 

Timeline and LOE

The AI and Impact Intelligence Specialist role will span the full duration of the FYBY program phases. An estimated Level of Effort (LOE) of approximately 2 days (16 hours) per week is required, with increased time (up to 3 days, or 24 hours, per week) expected during the setup of the AI tracking and evaluation system and at key reporting periods.

Note: A “day” is considered an 8-hour workday.

Responsibilities

1. Mentorship and Coaching Support 

  • Progress Tracking and Feedback: Utilize the AI-enhanced tracking system to monitor participants’ progress in mentorship and coaching activities.
  • Deliverable: Comprehensive progress reports for each participant, detailing development milestones.

2. Visibility and Engagement 

  • Metrics Tracking and Engagement Analysis: Use analytics tools to monitor traffic and engagement on FYBY’s platforms.
  • Deliverable: Quarterly engagement reports, tracking key metrics.

 3. Youth Network Engagement

  • Engagement Tracking for Youth Networks: Use the AI system to measure youth network engagement levels and evaluate the effectiveness of partnerships.
  • Deliverable: Regular tracking reports on youth network engagement.

4. AI-Enhanced Tracking and Evaluation System 

  • System Requirements and Features Definition: Identify and define system features, including documentation capabilities, survey tools, and collaborator engagement functions.
  • Deliverable: System requirements document with input from stakeholders.
  • System Design Specifications: Develop detailed specifications for user roles, functionalities, data capture, and integration.
  • Deliverable: Design specifications for the AI system.
  • Integration with Application Platform: Ensure the AI system integrates smoothly with the application platform, addressing any compatibility issues.
  • Deliverable: Integration test results and resolution logs.
  • User Training and Support: Create training materials and conduct training sessions to ensure effective system use.
  • Deliverable: Training materials and session records.
  • Surveys and Polls: Design and implement pre- and post-engagement surveys to gauge participant development.
  • Deliverable: Setup logs for surveys within the AI system.
  • Documentation Capabilities for Participants: Enable features for participants to document their journey and experiences.
  • Deliverable: Developed documentation feature with participant entries.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation Dashboard: Create real-time data dashboards to track program impact.
  • Deliverable: Dashboard screenshots and sample reports.
  • Data Privacy and Security Measures: Implement strict data privacy and security policies to protect sensitive information.
  • Deliverable: Compliance documentation and security audit reports.

5. Public Scholarship, Assessment, and Reporting 

  • Gathering Outcome Reporting: Summarize post-gathering feedback and connections formed.
  • Deliverable: Post-gathering report with participant and stakeholder feedback.
  • Individual and Collective Assessments: Use the AI tracking system to set assessment metrics, collect data, and analyze progress.
  • Deliverable: Data analysis report on participant achievements and program outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in data-driven program evaluation, AI systems, and impact measurement.
  • Strong analytical skills with familiarity in developing user-centered AI systems.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security protocols and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills for training and collaboration across multi-functional teams.
